The change is always most difficult at the start...

Wow...what a grueling few months. Maybe not grueling but it definitely has given me stress that I really did not need. This past month we transitioned from one manager to another. The transition itself was not that bad but it was not the smoothest that I have seen. Granted that I have not seen that many transitions but not the point.

The new manager is better. She is organized, efficient, and compliant. Not exactly the type of manager the rest of my coworkers like to have around. She hampers a lot of their failings and prevents them from having too much "fun" at work. I do like her and think that she has done so much good in the little time that she has been around. Things in the store are more organized; the schedule flow, though not ideal, works for the most part; and the store is looking cleaner by the week.

There has been some...resistance from some of my partners. Many of them have had hours deducted from what they usually work. Many do not understand that this is the way it is if we want to make our business much more profitable. They complain that there are no hours available for them to work. The truth is that there are so many hours that they can work; the only problem is that so many of them are not willing to work the hours that are available. Their "availabilities" do not let them. But, there is nothing they are willing to do about it...C'est la vie.

Enough with the complaints. I am going to end this blog on a positive note. For once, things are looking up around here. Everything seems to be in better control and I am partially contented...That is all...
