My week off has officially begun yesterday. It is going to be a week of nothingness, fruitless attempts to reevaluate my life, relentless requests from my parents for favours and errands, and an ever-annoying presence of my future just beckoning for me to make a mistake.
The first day, being yesterday of course, was uneventful though not completely wasted. The day begun with a trip downtown with my beloved sister. As she made her way to her class yesterday morning, I slowly plodded my way through Eaton Center, towards the Indigo to sit and relax in the Starbucks. Since I had a little over an hour to wait for my sister's class to finish, I decided to work on my resume. Luckily, I was able to get in touch with Cassie and she and Josephine came to visit me in my solitude before doing all the other things they needed to do for the day. Eventually, my sister finished and we went to grab a drink and a bit to eat. Once done, we headed back because of a birthday party that we needed to attend. Who's birthday was it, you ask? It was Jared's, one of our three nephews; he turned his first birthday yesterday. Such a cute boy.
Afterwards, we went to go watch Dragonball Evolution, which was recently released last Friday, April 10, 2009. Being a huge Dragonball fan, I was obligated to go and see this movie, knowing full well that there is no way in hell it could ever live up to the original source material. Still, despite that fact and the fact that they changed many aspects of the movie, it was still an enjoyable endeavour. Taking none of the history into account, the movie stands on its own and is one definitely worth watching on DVD if one does not feel like wasting $13. As a fan of the series, one might not enjoy it as much, just like my sister did not find it as entertaining or true to the source as she might have hoped. Then again, we knew it was not even going to be close.
So that was yesterday, and this is today. Today, I really have no concrete plans. Just more of the same, really. Working on my resume (it seems that I've been writing it forever, never seeming to come to a valid conclusion), wasting my time on useless pursuits, and always waiting for that perfect opportunity is what my day today will be filled with. Alas, that is the best I could do with my current abilities...Sad, isn't it?...
